Massachusetts Farm Energy Program

Since its inception in 2008, MA Farm Energy Program has helped farmers save over $800,000 annually on energy costs - or almost $10,000 per farm.

MFEP provides the Commonwealth’s agricultural community with resources and methods to reduce energy use and produce renewable energy on farms. MFEP is a statewide collaborative effort, providing direct technical and financial assistance to farmers and agricultural businesses. We bring together federal, state, industry, and private support to streamline resources available to Massachusetts farmers in order to:

• increase on-farm energy conservation and efficiency
• promote alternative and renewable energy strategies for on-farm energy generation
• improve farm viability by reducing energy consumption and costs, and
reduce agricultural greenhouse gas emissions.

We offer a range of services to the farming community, including technical resources and referrals, audits and consultations, financial incentives, and funding facilitation – all with a focus on helping bring projects from concept to completion.
