About Fishkill Farms:
Fishkill Farms is a 270 acre fruit and vegetable farm in East Fishkill, NY. Our homegrown organic vegetables and eco-certified fruit is marketed through our year-round Farm Store and Pick-Your-Own operation, our 400-member CSA, and several farmer’s markets locally and in New York City.
About The Position:
Vegetable Production Team members are the core of our farm’s diverse vegetable operation, and participate in every aspect of planting, growing, harvesting, storage and sales for 100 varieties of certified organic vegetables on 20 acres. Work occurs in and out of doors in various settings. Responsibilities include greenhouse work, seeding, transplanting, watering, cultivation, mowing, handweeding, hoeing, harvesting, washing, packing and storing of crops. In addition, Team Members attend and run one local farmer's market or CSA pickup each week, providing the opportunity to communicate directly with customers about the farm’s production. Additional opportunities crew leadership and other specialized roles, plus work with farm machinery and tractors. This is a seasonal, full-time position beginning in the spring (April) and ending mid-November, averaging 55 hours/week, with the possibility of year-round employment after November.
Must be hardworking, detail-oriented, with at least one season’s experience farming. Ability and enthusiasm for physically challenging and repetitive tasks in all weather conditions, ability to lift 50 lbs. safely and comfortably, driver’s license and clean driving record are a must.
Hourly rate starting at $9.75 and up, based upon experience. Housing on or off-farm.
