Queen’s Greens is seeking a Harvest Leader - start date ASAP

Queen’s Greens is seeking a field crew leader. We are an organic vegetable farm in North Amherst Massachusetts. We grow baby greens, herbs and select vegetables. During the winter we grow spinach in our greenhouses. The farm crew works in many aspects of crop production with the majority of hours spent harvesting, washing and packing produce. This is a year round position.

The harvest leader is an integral part of the management of the farm. The harvest leader is responsible for logistics and leadership during the harvest. The harvest leader will also work in other aspects of the farm including washing and packing produce, and production tasks including greenhouse seeding, transplanting, trellising etc. 

Ideal candidates are eager to learn, reliable, pay attention to detail, are team players and enjoy the demands of working in a fast-paced and active environment. All applicants must be able to lift 50 pounds.

Qualifications:
-Ability to lead team - motivate, pace setting, keep everyone on task, quality control
-Ability and willingness to learn and give/accept feedback
-Strong work ethic and ability to take on responsibility
-Ability to read harvest sheets, greenhouse seeding sheets, etc.
-Knowledge of vegetable quality
-Valid drivers license

Hours range from 20-50 hours/week depending on time of year.

Pay scale starts at $12.50/hour and is commensurate with experience.
