Position Title: Production Assistant
Schedule: 40 hours/week. Depending on the time of season, our start time will vary between 7am and 8am. Your schedule will be roughly 8 hours/day, 5 days a week. This position begins April 1st and goes through December 31st. For every 8 hour shift you receive ½hour paid lunch break. Schedule may be reduced to 30 to 40 hours/week during November and December.
Responsibilities: Assist the Owners and lead the Field Crew in all aspects of vegetable production, including: harvest, cultivation, transplanting, greenhouse work, retail set-up and distribution, and any other tasks as they arise. Production Assistant will also help with tractor operation, bed preparation, tractor cultivation, and field and harvest record keeping.
Compensation starting at $16/hour, subject to increase based on demonstrated ability to manage effectively and efficiently for profitable vegetable production

Minimum 2 years experience. This position would be ideal for someone with several years of vegetable production experience who is ready to increase their level of responsibility, decision making, and leadership on a small vegetable farm. We prefer a candidate who is willing to commit to at least 2 years at White Barn Farm.

Qualifications:
• Can lift 50lbs repeatedly, using proper body mechanics
• Has a valid drivers license
• Ability to complete repetitive tasks for a long period of time in all kinds of weather

• Takes instruction and correction well and is able to ask questions
• Fast learner - Ability to quickly pick up new techniques
