This position is funded through the TerraCorps Americrops program, and is compensated through a monthly stipend and final education award.
The School Gardens Youth Education Coordinator will work on a variety of youth focused programs. S/he will support Somerville's ten school gardens by leading garden classes, co-designing and implementing garden systems, developing/refining garden curriculum, and training teachers to use the gardens with their classes. S/he will also coordinate the Maple Syrup Project- an urban maple sugaring program that engages 2nd graders across the city in hands-on learning projects. This individual will be working as a integral member to small, dynamic team, with opportunities to collaborate with each of our additional programs, including South Street Farm and the Green Team.
