We are looking for hardworking, friendly, knowledgeable folks to join our retail Garden Center Crew. Part time positions are available for the 2017 season (September through December). All applicants must be able to work a weekend day.
Responsibilities include:
Assisting customers with selection of plants, soils, and other gardening supplies Some plant maintenance (greenhouse, nursery and retail) Moving plants from production to retail and creating displays.
Receiving and merchandising deliveries of plants and hardgoods Working on a POS register system Reports to Garden Center Assistant Manager and Garden Center Manager
Qualifications include:
Demonstrated interest in gardening, horticulture, and agriculture Willingness to participate in staff trainings and to continue their own horticultural education Retail experience with proven customer service skills Able to comfortably lift 50 lbs and work outside in a physically demanding environment for 8-10 hours Previous experience working on farms or in gardens helpful
Compensation:
Competitive hourly wage commensurate with experience 25% employee discount in farmstand and garden center
