Field and Market Position at Vegetable and Flower Farm

Full Well Farm is an organic no-till farm in Adams, MA owned and run by Meg Bantle (they/she) and Laura Tupper-Palches (she/her). They grow vegetables and cut flowers on less than an acre of permanent beds at a hand-scale. They sell through a box-style veggie CSA, flower CSA, attend the North Adams Farmers Market, have an online farmstand, and some wholesale to local restaurants and grocers. The farm focuses on food access, soil health and community.


Position Description
Beginning part time in April (16-32 hours), Full Time (40 hours) May-September, and part time in October.
Schedule May-September: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday. Saturdays are required through mid-October because it is market day, which luckily for us is just a ten minute drive from the farm, so it isn’t a super early morning!

You will work together with the farmer/owners, and independently. You’ll receive training on all tasks. Here is a list of some of the main activities you’ll be doing:
Harvest vegetables and cut flowers with quality and efficiency in mind
Wash & Pack vegetables with care and accuracy
Farmers Market: drive to, set up and maintain an attractive display, engage with customers and support an inclusive farmstand. Understand SNAP/HIP and provide friendly support to customers
Plant, weed, spread compost/mulch and use low-tech tools to prepare and maintain beds
Deliveries: drive the farm’s Chevy Express van to deliver local orders
Greenhouse seeding, watering
Bouquets: assemble bouquets with an eye for quality
Work with volunteers in a positive, inclusive manner

We are looking for someone who:
Shares a passion for social justice and desire to be part of building a more equitable food system
Is actively committed to anti-racism work and an equitable inclusive workspace
Is self-motivated and able to work independently and as a team
Is able to have a physically demanding job and work in all weather conditions
Is able to lift 50lb, to bend, squat, be active all day
Listens, ask questions and is willing to seek guidance as needed
Is dependable and efficient
Safely operates equipment (training is always provided)
Prior farm experience is preferred, but strong candidates with experiences in other fast paced/manual labor positions will be considered
A valid license is required to fulfill job duties
As there is not adequate public transportation to the farm, we recommend applicants have a vehicle or bicycle

Compensation
$15/ hour
Paid sick time
Access to lots of vegetables and flowers!
Farm gear allotment
For returning farmers there will be an annual raise
