Part-Time Farm kitchen- Cook: Stillman Quality Meats, LLC., Hardwick, MA

Stillman Quality Meats is a diverse livestock farm located in Hardwick, MA specializing in grass-fed and pasture raised meats and poultry. The farm operates a poultry abattoir and red meat processing facility- where we slaughter and process all of the poultry and meats produced and sold by our farm- including a full selection of hand cut meats, fresh sausages, charcuterie and more. In addition, the farm also produces a variety of specialty and value-added products from it's commercial kitchen space featuring farm meats and local, seasonal ingredients. The farm produces a range of fresh and frozen entrees, specialty charcuterie items, and more. Additionally, the farm operates a year round retail space at the Boston Public Market.
Essential Functions:
* Assist with new product and recipe development
* Food preparation and handling
* Creation and fulfillment of farm recipes for weekly and specialty orders
* Development of specialty menus for promotional events
* Daily maintenance of kitchen logs and recipe files
* Maintain a clean and safe work environment
* Labeling and product packaging
* Product testing and development
* Minimal customer relations
Qualifications:
* Minimum 1 year food service and kitchen experience
* Servsafe certified.
* Ability to work independently or in a team environment
* Ability to follow recipes and take instruction
* Applicants must be dependable and have a reliable transportation source
* Strong knowledge of local food a plus
Compensation:
This is a part-time (25-30 hours) farm-kitchen cook position. Applicants must have access to a computer, have a reliable form of transportation, including a valid driver's license and have a minimum of 1 year's experience in a professional kitchen environment. Servsafe and food handling background required. Monday- Friday, with the ability to work one or one partial weekend day. More hours available seasonally. Hourly compensation is based upon skill level and experience.
