Farm Hand

Moose Hill Wildlife Sanctuary, located in Sharon, MA, has a unique partnership with a neighboring farm. Our partner, in cooperation with our CSA Manager, plans, cultivates, and plants our 17 acres while we harvest the crops and manage the Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program. The Moose Hill Community Farm provides fresh, organic produce to 300 families weekly.

Farm Hands work in all weather, with a positive attitude. Responsibilities include tending, harvesting, boxing, loading vegetables, hand weeding, and hand cultivation. Farm Hands will work alongside our CSA Manager and Farm Apprentices. Farm Hands are expected to work side-by-side with shareholders and volunteers emulating proper harvest and weeding methods. Farm Hands are also responsible for personally monitoring one area of crops and reporting their observations daily.

This position is physically demanding - applicants need to be able to lift up to 50 lbs as well as bend and kneel repeatedly in all weather conditions. Previous farming experience is a plus, but not required. Punctual, energetic, and team-oriented people who are eager to learn while working in a fast-paced environment are encouraged to apply.

Farm Hands work 25 hours per week from the beginning of June through the end of September; as the season progresses, there may be occasional times when 30 hours per week is required.
