Positions available for 2018 season
Assistant Education Coordinator
Medway Community Farm is seeking an individual to support and work collaboratively with the farm’s Education Coordinator during the spring youth programs at the farm. The duration of the position will be from April 20th till June 15th. The spring “Farm to School” and “School to Farm” youth growing programs will be the primary focus of the position. All scheduled visits and programs will run during the hours of 8a.m-1:00p.m. This position is ideal for a person that wishes to work with children and professional educators to enhance our next generations knowledge and appreciation of locally sourced food and farm ecosystems.
Requirements
Knowledge of farming and farming practices
Experience and or interest working with groups of school aged children and teachers
Interest in farm eco systems such as vernal pools, animal husbandry, pollinators, brooks creeks and soil composition
Ability to complete a C.O.R.I screening
Compensation
This position is a part time position with an hourly wage. Compensation will be determined based on experience. Wage rate ranging from $13hr to $15hr.
Summer farm youth program leaders
Medway Community Farm is seeking individuals to join our exciting farm education summer staff team. We are a working farm that throughout the summer growing season invites youths to our farm for a variety of programs. Two of our most popular summer programs are “Fun on the Farm” and “Farmer in Training”. Group leaders work with small groups of children during six weeks of summer youth programming on the farm. Leaders will explore the farm with the youth groups, provide fun farm based education, exciting daily activities and projects.
Requirements
Knowledge of farming and farming practices
Experience working with farm animals/livestock
Experience and or interest working with groups of school aged children
First aid and CPR training or willingness to attend training before position begins
Interest in farm eco systems such as vernal pools, animal husbandry, pollinators, brooks creeks and soil
Ability to complete a C.O.R.I screening
Reliable
Positive disposition and ability to working with others on a busy working farm
Compensation
This position is a part time summer position with an hourly wage. Compensation will be determined based on experience. Wage rate ranging from $12hr to $13hr.
