Sunshine Farm asssistant grower

Sunshine farm in Sherborn is looking for a assistant farmer grower position for our highly diversified operation.

Job requirements: One year experience minimum working on a vegetable farm. Valid drivers license, tractor operation experience. Able to lift 50lbs . Work outside in all weather.

We grow 45 acres of fruits and vegetables and flowers. We retail at our farm stand, small CSA, PYO, 3 farmers markets. We are IPM, use many sustainable practices (drip irrigation, solar, high tunnels, compost). Job includes all aspects of growing produce from start to final sale. 40 plus hours a week. Pay commensurate with experience. This is a salaried position. 

Job description: Must be proficient at tractor and machinery operations. Daily watering and greenhouse plant care early season. Also in charge of supervising and planting vegetables on 45 acres of mixed fruit and vegetables. Includes lots of tractor operations running the transplanting crew, field tillage, mowing, cultivating, pruning, irrigation and crop care. In charge of daily harvest crew including picking,washing,packing produce for our farm stand, CSA and farmers markets.  May help setup farmers market if needed.

Hours are 7:00am to 5:00pm weekdays. Saturday 7:00 to 3:00pm farmers market and/or PYO fruit sales includes driving haywagon with customers to picking areas.
