Kitchen Rental Space

Dorchester Bay Economic Development Corporation and CropCircle Kitchen have teamed up to redevelop a former meat packing facility in Dorchester into the Pearl Food Production Center. CCK will expand its Jamaica Plain operations to the new CCK Pearl shared kitchen space, offering hourly kitchen rental to start-up food business entrepreneurs, and will also run a separate commissary kitchen for food truck operators seeking support or contract food prep services. The Pearl facility also offers seven to eight separate spaces for mid-stage food businesses seeking their own kitchen production space. Pearl will open for operations in April 2014.

Businesses have 3 possible options for using the Pearl site to operate their food production business:

1. Lease time in a shared-use commercial kitchen. CropCircle Kitchen rents out space on an hourly basis to new food businesses who are not yet ready to occupy facilities of their own. The shared kitchen operates on a membership model, providing facility access and guidance to members. CropCircle Kitchen is fully licensed by local, state, and federal agencies as a commissary kitchen.

2. Lease your own separate commercial kitchen. The Pearl Food Production Center offers seven separate, dedicated kitchen spaces for rent to food businesses in a mezzanine stage of growth. Spaces range in size from 1,350 to 4,200 SF, with rents starting at $3,800/month for an approximately 2,000 SF space.

3. Contract with CropCircle Kitchen to provide food production services. Food truck businesses can contract with CCK to support their operations through the CCK Pearl commissary kitchen.
