Part-time chores help, Barrett's Mill Farm, Concord

Barrett's Mill Farm is a vegetable and fruit farm in Concord, MA. We have a part-time position available for weekend farm chores. Hours are flexible and in addition to hourly pay the position includes a CSA membership for any week worked during the CSA season. This is a great job for someone who likes to work independently and be around plants!

Responsibilities:
Opening the greenhouses and cold frames.
Thoroughly watering plants in the greenhouses and on the cold frames.
Occasionally washing produce bins.
Depending on interest and ability, mowing and tidying around the farmstand and greenhouses.

Qualifications:
Attention to detail.
Responsible, efficient and self-motivated.
Able to comfortably lift 30 lbs and walk over uneven ground.
Reliable transportation to the farm.
Prior experience with gardening or working in a greenhouse is a plus, but not required.

Schedule:
Spring (March-May): 4 - 5 hours/week, Saturday and Sunday mornings
Summer (June-August): 4 - 7 hours/week Sunday and Monday mornings
Weekend chore start times are dependent on the weather. On sunny days, ability to start by 8am is crucial in order to ventilate the greenhouses. Cloudier days allow for later starts.

Compensation:
Pay starts at $11/hour plus a CSA membership! CSA membership includes about $35-$50 worth of vegetables per week starting in June, ending with last week of employment.
