1 Day a Week Farm Internship in Dracut, MA

Berube Farm is looking for a motivated intern interested in learning about sustainable agriculture for the 2015 farming season. This internship is ideal for someone looking to pursue a career in agriculture (especially those who want to start a farm business) and would like to gain hands on experience at a start-up vegetable farm. During the internship we will cover all aspects of running a farm, including crop planning, planting, maintenance, harvesting, sales & marketing (wholesale/CSA/farmer’s markets), and farm finances. There will also be a good deal of weeding. You will get dirty, sweat a lot, get a farmer’s tan, and hopefully learn if agriculture is something you would like to pursue further.

Schedule: Minimum 5 hours a week. Farm season is May 1 to Columbus Day. Day of the week can be flexible, hours will mostly be very early morning or late afternoon/evening. Willing to be flexible with college students who will not be in the area for the entire season if they are willing to increase their weekly hours.
Location: Dracut, MA
Compensation: Small cash stipend paid at end of the season plus a share of the week’s harvest
To apply: email resume and statement of interest to info@berubefarm.com
